Borscht Soup


Borscht is one of the most famous Eastern European soups. There are over a hundred different variations of the soup, depending on where the recipe originated from. This particular recipe is called Borscht by the Ukrainian Way. 


  • 2 Cooked Medium Sized Beets 

  • 1 Red Tomato 

  • 1 Small Onion 

  • 1 Medium Carrot 

  • 3-4 Tbsp Tomato Sauce 

  • 1 Small Head of Cabbage 

  • 1 Beef Short Rib 

  • Salt to Taste 

  • Pepper to Taste 

  • 1 Tbsp Any Oil 


  1. Boil water in a large saucepan and add in the short rib and the tomato (after 15 minutes take out the remains of the tomato) 

  2. Pour oil into pan and cook the onions for five minutes 

  3. Shred the carrot and add it to the onion and cook for ten minutes stirring often

  4. Add grated beets to the carrots and onions 

  5. Add the tomato to the carrots, onions, and beets and cook for 5 minutes 

  6. Once everything has simmered for 5 minutes add in the tomato sauce and stir 

  7. Using a knife shred the cabbage and add it into the broth 

  8. Add all the mixed vegetables from the pan into the saucepan and add in the salt and pepper to taste 

  9. Cover and broil for 30-40 minutes
