Shchavel Soup


Super easy and quick to make, the shchavel soup is very similar to borscht and chicken broth. You can also add in any extra vegetable of your preference while making the soup, and it is popular to put in a boiled egg when serving. 


  •  Prepared Chicken Broth 

  • 1 Cut Carrot 

  • ½ Cup Preserved Sorrel 

  • Salt 

  • Pepper

  • 1 Boiled Egg (Optional) 


  1. Add in the cut carrot, salt, pepper and preserved sorrel into the boiling chicken broth 

  2. Bring the heat down to medium 

  3. Broil for 15-20 minutes 

  4. Taste and add any salt and pepper if desired 

  5. Optional: when serving add in chopped egg into soup
