Steamed Cabbage

Steamed cabbage is a very popular side dish in my family. It can go along with your favorite choice of protein, or can go perfectly by itself as an appetizer!
Ingredients

1 Small Head of Cabbage; Shredded

1 1/2 Cups Homemade Sauerkraut

2 Tbsp No Added Sugar Ketchup

2 Large Carrots; Shredded

1 Small Onion; Finely Chopped

2 Bay Leaves

3 Tbsp Olive Oil
Steps

Preheat a large skillet over medium high heat and add olive oil and sauté onions and carrots for 5 minutes mixing frequently

Add in the cabbage and sauté for another 10 minutes. Then add in the sauerkraut and continue stirring occasionally for another 5 minutes

Add in ketchup and bay leaves and mix

Bring heat down to medium, cover and cook for 35-40 minutes stirring every 15 minutes. After 20 minutes reduce the heat to medium low. (Cooking time may vary, cook until cabbage becomes soft)

Remove bay leaves before serving
